Looking for the hottest tickets in town today? The Aquadolls (Oct 9 at Stickyz), Mushroomhead (Oct 11 at Rev Room), Flatland Cavalry (Oct 26 at Rev Room), Heart Bones (Oct 31 at Stickyz), Brother Moses (Nov 16 at Stickyz), and Boom Kinetic (Nov 29 at Rev Room) are all on sale right now!! Plus maybe a few more surprises…
The Aquadolls are headed from LA to ACL, and that means they will make their first stop ever in Arkansas. This young indie rock band has already supported Weezer, Jenny Lewis, and The Black Lips (to name a few). They are repped by Don Muller (uh, he and Perry Farrell started Lollapalooza together), so it’s definitely a show you want to put on your radar when they play Stickyz Rock’n’Roll Chicken Shack on Oct 9.
Mushroomhead (Cleveland, OH) are making their third appearance in as many years at Rev Room, but this one is different how? A) it’s a Friday night, and B) it’s October which is THEIR MONTH!! It’s Mushroomhead’s HALLOWEEN TOUR, and you don’t want to miss what they are going to do onstage Oct 11.
Flatland Cavalry (Lubbock, TX) is a reminder of why we love to work on shows. They have appeared a few times recently at Stickyz, but as their popularity and numbers have grown it’s time to move them on up to the big Rev Room. They are bringing Austin Meade (no stranger to the Little Rock music scene) to support, and this should be a big time on Saturday Oct 26.
Heart Bones (Minneapolis, MN and Austin, TX) is the brainchild of brainy children Sean Tillman (aka Har Mar Superstar) and Sabrina Ellis (A Giant Dog / Sweet Spirit). They’ve recently completed a full tour doing the “Dirty Dancing” soundtrack (for real), and the live set including their new originals are mind-blowingly excellent in a way that you understand if you are a fan of either/both artists. The fact that this concert happens at Stickyz on actual Halloween is why we think you’ll have the time of your life (and you’ve never felt this way before…I swear, it’s the truth…).
Brother Moses (Arkansas/NY) started their career in northwest Arkansas banging out shows around the U of A in Razorback country, but then…then they got that taste for Bright Lights / Big City and moved it on up to Brooklyn, NY. These guys are out there DOING IT and getting gigs at the good spots like Mercury Lounge (NYC) and Rough Trade (Brooklyn). They make a stop near home base on Saturday Nov 16 at Stickyz!
Boom Kinetic (Fayetteville, AR). Friday Nov 29. If you live around here, then you know what this is all about on Thanksgiving weekend. If you don’t live around here then BK is one of the most exciting cover bands you will see, BUT…here’s the trip…they are better than just a cover band. Imagine if you saw “Wild Boys”-era Duran Duran or The Killers or The 1975 doing a covers set. It’s like that. They deliver a show and they are sooo good at it.
