Rev Room Forever Lovin’ Jah

2 years ago, THE ORIGINAL WAILERS performed at The Rev Room. I’m at a loss for words trying to describe the feelings in the room that night. It can only be described as “One Love”. All ages, all races, all classes, just one big sweaty stew of people that came to hear some of the principle performers of the band that backed BOB MARLEY through an all too short career. Bob Marley. Bob Marley’s “band”. Onstage. At the Rev Room. When we booked it, I don’t think we quite understood the gravity of the situation.

I saw people crying tears of joy. I saw flags of the Jamaican nation waving proudly throughout the venue. There were hugs and kisses from strangers just so happy to be in the building. I’ve spent a lot of nights at Rev Room, but none of them felt quite like it did on that night.

I’ve listened to Bob Marley for as long as I can remember. 30+years since Dad used to play “I Shot the Sheriff” or “Jammin” in the car while he drove me to school. If you have any connection to the music of Bob Marley, to the community of reggae music, to the laid back spirit of human goodness – then I’m telling you, friend to friend, do not miss THE ORIGINAL WAILERS AT THE REV ROOM SEPT 1. $15 Tickets will go on sale July 6.
