Word comes down from the Memphis Commercial Appeal that Matador Records Recording Artist JAY REATARD’s death last month was a result of “Cocaine toxicity” with alcohol being a contributing factor. Let me be one of many that mourns another lost voice. I was late to the Jay Reatard party, but I did pick up his critically acclaimed “Watch Me Fall” last year and it was as engaging as everyone says. Here’s a classic Nirvana track that Jay covered, read into it what you will – not just the Cobain angle, but the Francis Farmer angle as well. Enjoy, and go out and discover some of his stuff.
