Let’s get the lineage out of the way first – Zion Godchaux’s parent’s, Donna Jean and Keith, were longtime members of The Grateful Dead.
DJ/Drummer/Programmer Russ Randolph and Guitar/Vocalist Zion “Rock” Godchaux make incredibly funky dance rock that is some sort of original organic/electronic amalgam. Think more Pretty Lights and Particle than Datarock or The Crystal Method. This is where the the jamband world collides with the rave genreation. Expect smiles.
